With the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, Bridgewater
State College, Bristol Community College, and Southern New
England School of Law nearby, New Bedford is blessed with many
post-secondary fully-accredited educational opportunities to
meet the varied needs of its citizens.
These institutions of higher learning contribute to the fabric
of our community and offer programs from continuing education to
the graduate and doctorate level. The fields of study include
arts and sciences, business, engineering, visual arts, nursing,
marine and computer science, and law. As well as providing an
educational base in our community, the university and three
colleges here, continue to invest resources in research and
technology for local business and communities.
