NEW BEDFORD — Noelle Foye, former education director of the Fuller Craft Museum in Brockton, has been named executive director of ArtWorks!, the city’s community arts center.
Dr. Kathy Miraglia, chairwoman of the Board of Directors, said in a news release that Foye will focus on expanding the center’s reach and increasing community support and funding.
Foye succeeds Cyndi Wish, who had served as executive director since July 2011.
Foye, through her work at Fuller, has experience in community arts programming and in building relationships and networks to support the arts in the community, the release said. She and her husband Jim have also been actively in community arts projects in Brockton where they are longtime residents.
“Making art accessible to people has been an overarching goal for me,” Foye said in a statement. “I am looking forward to the opportunity to work with such a well-respected arts organization known for its commitment to community arts and to working in New Bedford with its welcoming and vital arts community.”
A graduate of Boston University’s Metropolitan College, Foye has a master of science degree in arts administration and an undergraduate degree in art from Bridgewater State University.
As a community art center, ArtWorks! offers exhibitions, outreach programs, classes and a gallery with work for sale by local artists.
