NBEDC Names Senior Lending Officer
Executive
Director Matthew A. Morrissey announced the appointment
of Ramon Silva to serve as Senior Lending Officer of the
New Bedford Economic Development Council. Mr. Silva
joined the staff January 14th.
With 12 years of experience in residential and
commercial mortgage lending, Mr. Silva brings a full
range of lending skills that will enable him to continue
the NBEDC’s successful lending program. Given his
on-the-ground business-to-business sales experience and
first hand knowledge of small business development
opportunities and growth, Mr. Silva will assist in the
implementation of a more strategic direction to the
NBEDC’s lending program.
“We are excited to welcome Ramon to our team. His
experience and perspective will add to the strategic
momentum of the organization,” said Mr. Morrissey.
“Ramon will be working closely with the NBEDC finance
and loan committees and our banking partners to execute
our lending services that support business development
and expansion in the City of New Bedford.”
The NBEDC portfolio of lending products includes but is
not limited to: Entrepreneurial Loan Fund, Brownfield
Clean Up Revolving Loan Fund, Fishing Assistance Loan
Fund, and a Community Loan Fund. Additionally, the
organization is a Micro-Loan lender for the U.S. Small
Business Administration.
Mr. Silva was most recently employed as an account
executive and commercial loan broker in the field of
real estate and equipment finance. He is a graduate of
Williams College, a former U.S. Marine and resident of
the City of New Bedford.
New Directions, Interim Senior Lending Offer, Barbara
Grunkemeyer, and Peter Selley, chair of the NBEDC loan
committee, assisted in various ways in the interview
