Major hurdle cleared in Fairhaven Mills site development

BEDFORD — Three parties with a lot to gain or lose over
the Fairhaven Mills development project have won, with
an agreement this week by businessman John Meldon to
sell his land to Dickinson Development Corp. for an
undisclosed price.
The deal gives:
* Mr. Meldon the sale of an old mill that was expensive
to hold and maintain to possibly the only serious
potential buyer in a difficult economic climate. [read

City closes sale of three Fairhaven Mills sites

BEDFORD — The city has closed the sale of three
properties for $500,000 at the Fairhaven Mills site, and
it and the developer anticipate that substantial
progress will be made during the coming year.
The administration of Mayor Scott W. Lang concluded its
deal with Dickinson Development Corp. of Quincy last
month. On Tuesday, representatives of the city and

City renewable firm lands $20M investment

BEDFORD — A company developing new technology to turn
waste into gas at its New Bedford research and
development facility has announced a major new
investment intended to carry the company from the test
to the commercial stages of operation.
Ze-gen Inc., a Boston-headquartered start-up, reported
Tuesday it had secured $20 million in new financing from
new and existing investors. Ze-gen was started with
